Audible Silence Bio

Audible Silence began in the summer of 1999 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ben Grizzle (lead vocals/bass), Eric Moore (guitar/background vocals), and Jake Grizzle (drums) are the trio that make Audible Silence today. The guys have recently reformed in 2003 after a sabbatical in 2002, which allowed them time to refocus their lives on the Lord and on family. Now back with a new vision and refined desire to see people come to the lord, Audible Silence has successfully released their first official demo and has started recording their first full album that is scheduled to be released Fall 2005. They gig often and sell quite a bit of CD's and other merchandise at their shows. For the last year their calendar has been full yet they have not proactively booked a majority of their shows.

Audible Silence has a style that the world has been begging for since top-ten, pop-rock killed the guitar solo. Their vocals are inviting and filled with the power of God that is pouring out of these guys. The rock world needs bands that really rock but do not mask their lyrics with vague associations. These guys are not afraid to say the name of Jesus and to reveal their own passion for Him. Their songs have been in rotation at KOKF 90.9 FM since 2003. They were recently interviewed on an hour long radio show called "The Under Dog Show".

The name Audible Silence actually came to them after writing lists and lists of band names in mid 1999. The name Audible Silence never made it on that list but was first placed on a flyer for a local venue. The meaning of this name was actually revealed to them a short time after the conception of the name during a bible study. The guys came across the verse Revelation 3:6 that says, "Let him who has an ear to hear listen to what the spirit is saying to the churches". The guys began to talk about what it means to hear God and how that verse was not just talking about physical ears but spiritual ears. They soon realized that God had given them confirmation that the name Audible Silence had been given by the Lord. Audible Silence is to them the description of what God sounds like when He speaks. He speaks very clearly and audibly but doesn't make a sound.

It would not be fitting to talk about the band and not mention their beautiful families. Ben Grizzle has a wife named Emily, a son named Samuel (6), and a daughter named Kali (3). Eric Moore's wife is named Brandie and they have a son named Elijah (6) and a daughter named Maggie (3). Jake Grizzle's wife is Sabrina and they have a daughter named Briannah (8) and a son named Jacob (2). Family is very important to the band and one of the keys to its success.

They love to rock. They love to worship Jesus. They are bringing the good news to a dying world. Audible Silence.

Mission Statement: We are called to take The Gospel to a dying world. We use Rock’n’Roll to preach the message and we allow the Holy Spirit to direct our every move. God is always speaking and we will always go out of our way to listen to Him. What we hear Him say, we will shout to the world!

Here are some sample lyrics from one of their songs called “Superstarstruck”:

You say life’s not worth living if you could never live the dream you’ve dreamed

Tell me now where will you turn if life does not turn out the way it seems in your dreams…

….Look into the mirror tell me do you see a superstar?

You’ve been dreaming since you was younger but did you think you ever get this far?

When the lights go down and the fans go home are you all alone?

Do you need someone to help you tell me do you know who you are?
